  • Porsche 993 Biturbo disks

    Hi all.

One of my friends owning an RS2 has been offered a set of 993 Biturbo disks he wants to fit on his car.

    My concerns:

    1) Do hats have same offset as RS2 ones?
    2) Does rear 993 Biturbo disk have drum's specs as to accomodate RS2 handbrake system?

Thanks in advance for any info

There's a thread on the Yahoo RS2 list about the 993 TT discs.

          Thanks Peter.
Didn't find an answer for the rear ones, though.

993 t 322mm (fronts) will not fit rs2, unless with difrent huts and I dont think rear will fit rs2 either.( I've tryed fronts had to take em back)
            thx

Yep hat wasn't as deep as original , had to go for 928gts not drilled at the end.
                thx

I don't know if he has the original RS2 322 front discs already and wants a new set

But he could always swap the hats as both are 2-piece.

I bought a set from Porsche only to find out it could not be fitted.

They are lying around in the garage untill original ones go out. Then I will swap hats and have a cheaper second pair of discs.

About the rear I think I have seen a conversion with four 322x32mm discs on an RS2.

Don't know german but they look like they are all front discs

Hi, Rafael. How are you doing?

Didn't hear from you by a long time!

About the 993TT disks, where do you find hats that fit the 993TT rotors and have the right offset for the RS2?

I think it's easier to use another adapter for the calippers then to change hat's. I had a set custom made that made it possible to use the org. small RS2 calipper with the 993tt discs

                          Cheers,
                          Roger

                            Marco:

I have been working a lot

You can take the hats from the Original RS2 322x32mm discs. I told you this in case he is replacing Audi Rotors and wants to buy a cheaper second pair. Maybe through Tots or a dismantler he could get some hats from a used pair of discs.

Another thing is like Roger suggested making custom brackets or also he could make custom aluminium hats for the 993 rotors. They will last longer evacuate more heat and weight less.

I told you this because I made that mistake and I have a pair of 993 tt front dics lying around. This are my solutions if he already got them:
                            1. Sell them (they are new so a waste of money)
                            2. Swap hats with the ones Porsche made for the 322 RS2 rotor.
                            3. Buy a 993 tt so you can fit the disc to it

I am thinking about solution number 3 at the moment

                            Cheers,
                            Rafael
