    996.351.429 and 996.351.430 Callipers

I have a chance of buying a set of (Big Reds) Porsche callipers for my S2. I am presently using the standard wheels.

If I buy these (190 pound excl transport) will they fit, is it a big job and will I have to change the wheel size.

Any other info would be great.

Please give answers ASAP or I may miss out on the deal.

I will read up on how to do it later if these will fit.

    Thanks

    Edit

From what I have been reading it looks like they will fit with a custom bracket. Not sure yet if they will fit inside the standard S2 wheel rim.

It looks like there will be a 3mm gap which is a bit small.

Seems like I will have to put on some 18" rims to be safe.

    2nd Edit

    Must have custom bracket made

    16" Rim will not fit
    17" Rim possible
    18" Rim will fit

    Disks required

They are standard Porsche gt3 discs

    Front brake disc

    left 996.351.409.02
    right 996.351.410.02

    Porsche superseded numbers

    left 996.351.409.03
    right 996.351.410.03

Do you have the part number for the discs?

just be careful not to wear the pads down too low as those calipers are designed to work with 34mm rotors AFAIK.

Is there a disk that can fit which has a 34mm rotor

I think most people with these calipers use the merc ml55 345x32 discs but you have to machine the centre bore and open it 1mm to 68mm again on ebay you can get the mtec discs and pads for £123 posted and you will need 18" wheels for these.

It would be nice if I did not have to do and disc mods.

Anybody have a part number that will fit.

Brake upgrade disc/bracket urgent help needed

                    Guys,

Please help. I have Porsche callipers 996.351.429 and 996.351.430 and I would like to get them fitted to my 1996 S2.

                    1. I would like to use the 34mm thick discs with my brake upgrade.
                    2. Which disc is the right one to use see NOTES BELOW?
                    3. I will be fitting 18" Audi B7 S4 rims.
                    4. I have tried to contact will to buy the brackets from him but had no reply.
                    5. I can have brackets made does anybody have the correct dimensions/drawing
                    6. Will it be necessary to fit wheel spacers?
                    7. If you have done this mod please PM me.

                    I was told that

                    NOTES
Porsche discs 996.351.409.03 and 996.351.410.03 would fit my brake upgrade and alternative discs were Zimmermann’s part number 601PO0280 601PO0290

                    This is what they replied.

Please note that you have inquired about the 997 GT3 front discs (as per the OE Porsche numbers that you supplied). I just want to bring to your attention that the 996 Gt3 discs are the same diameter and thickness but with a different offset / overall height. Please be sure before ordering that you have investigated and are purchasing the correct GT3 discs.

                    OZ-# 460.1560.20 (left) fits OE-Ref. 996.351.409.03
                    OZ-# 460.1561.20 (right) fits OE-Ref. 996.351.410.03

The above is for Zimmermann 1-piece, cross-drilled rotors with their Coat-Z anti-corrosion coating.

                    997 GT3 - Overall height = 69,5mm

                    996 GT3 - Overall height = 67,5mm

Zimmermann doesn’t give the disc mounting flange thickness in the catalogue but assuming the flange is the same - the 997 discs will sit 2mm more inboard.

I have read quite a bit about this upgrade and the more I read the more confused I get please help me with my confusion.
