I'm doing my big brake conversion using Porsche 996 calipers 323 disc etc. I have everything except pads obviously most factors want a reg to get correct pads. Anyone know the number of pads needed. Only need standard textar or paid pads. Ie cheap as this conversion getting wee bit expensive now
fyi the "yellow stuff" ebc pads are rated as "high dust" where as the ebc "red stuff" is low dust. I have textar pads and would say that they they have a lot of dust but the do brake well.
Yellows are a good pad now, run them on 3 cars now and they take abuse but work from cold. Reds are ceramic and aren't as good in terms of bite but should last well.
I run Ds2500 on the S2 and they have always worked well when warm but are quite soft and don't last too long with hard use.

I have red stuff's. If they are low dust, I'll never buy yellow stuff - at least not for the road.
I find Red stuff pads a bit rubbish when cold (scary rubbish if youre not used to it) unfortunately they also last for ages!!!

the car is a second car and tend to drive smooth using momentum etc and little braking also it doesn't really get dirty so at this stage think the textars Will do. I've spent nearly as much on the car since buying it as it cost to buy. also need to feed the kids at some point!
