    TT Brakes issues

Finally drove the car today, the only s/h parts I've used on the build were the front calipers, and typically the front passengers caliper is binding. Going to get a pair of new ones anyway now.

My main worry is looking at the discs, it seems the discs aren't wearing properly...

What would cause that? Fortunate there's a coating on there, probably wouldn't have noticed untill they warped. The binding only seems to be on the passenger side, but both sides are wearing like the above.

Now iirc they are designed for 30mm thick discs, but I had to use 25mm thick A6 discs as all the 30mm discs seemed to have 2 sets of 5x112 holes drilled where I have dual pcd hubs.

On fitting it seemed alright, but I remember looking in the brake bible, and the discs I'm using have a 3mm shorter hat height. Could 3mm spacer behind the disc be needed?

    Cheers

Wear like that is usually a sign or worn pins on a floating caliper design. Or maybe they have just seized up a bit and need a clean out and lube.

          Cheers for the advice.

New calipers and new guide pins (£54!) and its sorted, worn like normal. Thought the funky noises were the sticking calipers, turned out to be the brake guard hitting. Won't forget to check those on a new build in a hurry.

Bought a pair of calipers from carfactorsuk on ebay - £105 delivered no exchange, turned up next day. Was worried about quality, but they look really good and came with a full quality control checklist. See if they last.
