Idea for more modern power brakes. Discuss

I spent a few hours in the engine bay of a 2001 Range Rover P38 today. During my travels I noticed that it has electro-hydraulic power brakes. It has its electric pump, accumulator bomb and ECU in one unit. It also has 4 channel ABS with traction control built in.
The advantage I see is that this system pressurises the brake fluid as opposed to the mineral oil we are used to. Might this be an idea instead of retrograding back to vacuum servo to rid your motor of the power brakes on your S2.
After some research, this was also fitted to L/Rover Disco 2's and originated in the later Classic Range Rovers albeit with 3 channel ABS and T/C on the rear axle only.

Personally I would much rather use a simply, proven and reliable vacuum unit than an expensive over complicated box of tricks from one of the most unreliable cars evers to grace the roads

IMHO there is a very good reason that 90% of cars use a vacuum booster.

I have done just this on other cars using the pressurised brake bomb from the classic on another car.

It made the brakes too keen for the application as I was using the system to power 4 x 20" dual cylinder brake drums and needed extra fluid movement.

It's temperamental at best on the Range Rover let alone when you put it into something else.

I eventually converted back to vacuum and used 2 master cylinders on a bias bar instead.
