Previously I was considering the Big Red 322mm upgrade, but that is big bucks!!
So to compensate for sticking with 304mm discs (which I have to say have never let me down in anyway) I am going to put the Ferrodo DS2500 pads on the front. If they are as good as everyone says this should compensate for the smaller size?
The cheapest I have seen the Ferrodo DS2500 pads for the RS2 is £130 incl Vat from here . Has anyone seem them cheaper elsewhere?
I will also get the same visual effect as the Big Reds and unless you get out your tape measure, difficult to tell apart
I will also sort out my handbrake at the same time with new shoes, springs etc. I had to do a very interesting hill start last week - fellow RS2 owners will know what I mean
What do you think of my plan?

No I didn't. I just sorted the handbrake with new shoes. I am planning to do the factory big red upgrade sometime soon - just need to find the dosh first. I think Alistair has recently done it. Also want to replace the dampers (probably with Koni adjustables) and all the bushes too. Time to empty the bank account!

I have gone big red with drilled discs all round (thats how it comes !). Great performance. The only downside is the OEM textar pad dust +++++.

Did the rear handbrake, both backing plates and wheel bearings. believe it or not my handbrake now works on inclines !!

If people are still interested in alternatives I posted an excellent yahoo RS2 list of disc/pad porsche alternatives for replacement options. http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9177

The main fact that interested me was the drilled/cast 322mm direct bolt on disc was from 1994 C3.6 turbo not the 993 turbo

                Alastair,
Do you have the part no. / kit no. for the Koni adjustable dampers? Where did you get yours from & what bushes did you replace yours with?
                TIA

I got them last minute from QST as AMD had failed to order them a week prior to my visit ! (they had also run into the annual summer koni close down)

I have the invoice and will check the numbers. However they were not that much more expensive than other sources and I hoped they would not send the wrong ones !

I have not had to change bushes yet. I would do standard subframe and uprated wishbone if I did.

                    ooo no. come on!
now that I got my 322x32 drilled ones for rs2 I read thease tread!
I got them from porsche, and yet I need to exchange the "hat" because of rs2 diferent offset disk... when I could get same measure disk, no hat, no holes and direct fit chepar to...

holes in disks - pros and cons. Now what about 2 pieces (rotos+hat) disk or one piece disk, pros and cons?

...so when change next time I get the correct idea.

just found the receipt. Sorry no code nos Ring QST 01444 451542 for price and or nos

To RS2.pt you do not need holes in brake discs IMHO. I will replace mine with standard porsche disc from that list in due course.

Has anyone tried these discs yet? If so and they are OK where do you get them from? Also does anyone know the Porsche part number of the standard rear callipers from an RS2? Thanks.
