I used to use these discs and warped 3 sets one set was machined true again but still warped , at £150 a disc I changed to much cheaper a8 discs being a s2 and not a rs2. but my problem I think was due to them being used with mono blocks which are originally ment for 28 mm discs and the 32 mm Porsche discs are just to wide . I think them not being floating type and being bolted direct to the rotor doesn't help as there is no free movement for exspantion when they get hot. From my exspieriance these discs warp very easyilly .never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointedComment

That's a good little page to keep in your book marks .never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointedComment

Just thinking would cross drilled discs be more prone to uneven pad build up than a none cross drilled disc ?never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointedComment

DS2500 is for the sport application and as far as I know, that are in compliance with R90 homologation, I did not check this special application – street legal.
Next level and pure circuit or rallying is DS3000, but it’s completely different story and level of application.
From my experience DS2500 are really good one in terms of wear, disc friendly, consistent friction level, performance, cost. On the other hand you can still recognize difference between hot and cold braking performance.
On the other hand you would like to have best stopping power without wear and any additional upgrade. BUT the oem pads/rotors are engineered to work together so when you change to a high-temp pad, you may need to upgrade rotors as well.
Thinking about heat transfer into the brake callipers and fluid is wrong, heat must by mainly transferred to rotors, otherwise brake fluid will be boiling in the moment.
Bedding-in must be done incompliance according to the manual. Otherwise you can get expected level of performance.
Incorrect bedding-in procedure leads to lower friction performance. It’s caused by resins from the friction material covering rotor surface.
Do not take it incorrectly friction material must be transferred on the disc surface and back .Comment

My DS2500s had "for racing only, not for road use" on them.Comment

I tend to agree with the article, I read it a couple of years back, in that case you would have thought skimming would have helped, but not the caseLast edited by jade; 1 November 2012, 16:54.RS 2 580HPComment
