Ive been there and done that with the MERC discs on my S2, cost me about £30 in re stocking charges from merc because they didnt fit. The problem I had with the merc discs on the S2 is that the hat height is too deep so it fouls against the mounting flanges for the caliper.
I have just touched base with Tim - previously from QRS who has confirmed that a set of original RS2 calipers will support a 325mm 1995 S6 disc with the necessary brackets - this is directly onto a UFO strut.
I was sizing the UFO struts up with the later hp2 calipers and discs the other day and found that the hub would need maybe 5mm taking off the diameter to fit the disc over it.However,S6 AAN discs are 314mm and S6+(V8) discs are 323mm (same as used on the S2 monoblock conversions) is that the 325mm ones you mentioned?
god this is confusing lol i really want to get away from these ufo discs also , so what exactly is required to do so ?
easiest option is to buy a set of HP2 struts/calipers from a S6 or the later S4's and just bolt it all on,only downside is they are very heavy. I have heard people say they work better than a porsche monoblock setup.
