1990 NG Coupe Break pressure regulator

Evening gang, over the weekend we set about attacking the few bits that had failed the MOT, top mounts are done, which left us with this regulator to attack ...

The falkrum looks as if one of the pins that holds it in place has broken and a spring is missing ? so there is alot of movement in the plate, however i dont know what they look like out of the factory ... we sprayed around with penetrating fluid and prodded and poked about ...

How much should the pistons move ? the pistons are moving around 2mm ? they move when the pedal is pressed and released .. should they be moving more ? or does the whole thing have to be taken off (releived of fluid pressure) to get them to move more ?

    Thanks people

    Hi all

Decided it's going to be easier to replace the
Unit, to keep it brief .. Does anyone know which type I should have ? A single piston or a twin piston, I've had a load of speculation from others and even Audi themselves can't give me a definate answer, there saying that only 2 engine codes are listed as having the 2 piston unit and that NG isnt one of them. Other places have said I should have a duel, others are saying a single piston ... I'm starting to get really confused

Does it make a difference ? My car has a duel piston unit, will it effect anything ifni replace it with a single piston ?

    Any takers ?

    Thanks

I would say "like for like" if you have a dual one fitted now, replace it with same
