audi a6 c4 handbrake cable replacement

Anyone have a guide or tips. I need to change mine for mot.

Is it a ramp job or could it be done using axle stands.

Not even close to being an easy job. Very difficult with exhaust and prop shaft in place. Here is some info that might be of help:

      Thanks ideal.

I have aftermarket exhaust so might help there.

So a job for up on a ramp.

A pit or ramp is favourable for ease. To do it on the floor is a PITA.

I did it with axle stands and exhaust removed. Don't wanna do it again, ever.

I replaced my handbrake cable without removing anything first(I only had jack-stands) - some silicone spray might come in handy

If your fingers aren't too fat you should be able to do it the same way as I did
