If you don't want to redrill the rotors:

Otherwise redrilling makes all other options using A8 discs, etc. possible

You can get 1 piece really cheap and easy, from a Touareg/Q7/Cayenne. I'm pretty sure Aron used them many years ago.

But easy means heavy, so I went for 2 piece with a rotor that's the same size and PCD as the Porsche PCCBs, and only 9kg.
The trouble is you need to know someone at a racing team, who knows someone at Brembo, to get them. And they are not cheap by any means.

I love the weight of the GT2 calipers, at <3kg each IIRC. Pretty incredible when you compare them to something like the Audi 8 pots.

I knew yours were tried and tested, Gaz.

yes 2 piece all the way. still wouldn't want one dropped on my toe though.

just interested in the 2 piece versions. not that id go to the extent of new brakets.

think ill start with a 5stud conversion. I got a 500 hp garage at the moment instead of car.

Those 4 x 108 hubs means that you will be very limited on brake disc/rotor options. To go big, you will have to go to 5 x 112 hubs.

              The 1992 A80Q Audi 90 with 7A engine had 893615301 4 x 108 276 x 25 rotors.

              Later 1992's just before the switch to 5 x 112s on the B4s, had 8A0615301E 4 x 108 280 x 22 rotors.

4 x 108x 22 @280 sounds like a corrado g60 disc redrilled. the G60 has a bigger carrier than the 256mm 16v. Audi s2 twin pots can fit over this solution. that's the way I would go, if any.

cant see point in going ford unless you get a large increase and you don't. personally I feel disc thickness is important on our cars.

the years in point are same in vw there abouts where the vr6 corrado could come with 280 or 285mm

if ford discs fit then id be tempted on 2 piece discs and custom brackets with brembo.

Thickness is very important indeed, and with brakes too.

there are a couple of variants I think. the early 996 gt2 ceramics are lighter than say the non ceramics and the toureg 6pot.

312mm passat discs redrilled to 4x108, boxster calipers and rs2 carriers with slight machining and some spacers made to push the caliper further out is what i use.

Are yours ceramic, Mike. I can't remember.
I remember it was a shame to put pads in them, it almost felt like they doubled the weight.

the bits that make them ceramic are the caps in the pistons IIRC. they will take the heat transfer and not pass it to the fluid the same. or so im told.

I need new pads for when I use them. what you using. I had redstuff they worked and were cheap but beware of the backing plate splipping downon its own.

What is the light 6 pot porsche gt3 caliper code ? also if i understood right, this should be used with some 322m discs to fit under 17". So if worth the 6pot wit 322mm disk, vs the 4 pot with same size brake discs ?

cant give direct comparisions and in everyday driving it may be a negligible difference.

6 pots for cudos and sure fire braking.
