I just got through to them. They're £8.69+VAT for each plate so that works out at £40.84 plus postage for both sides. The bolts are included in the kit. I think I'll get them too and bring them along to the garage meet.

I let it ring for 5mins! Three times!
Are they the part numbers for the 304mm caliper, or the BigRed 322 caliper?

      Have emailed them now...

They're for the stock 304mm calipers. Here's the ETKA slide.

How are you getting on dan? I'm suffering from the same symptoms, badly!

Just had the discs and pads replaced as I thought it may have been down to the old discs and pads (only started after changing the pads), but now the pads and discs have both been replaced, it's multi-times worse!

I'm using Alcon 4 piston calipers. Is the only remedy to this problem changing the calipers?

I'm in limbo at the moment - I've received half of the new sprung plates from VAG Parts, still waiting for the 2nd half (bottom set). Once I've got them, I'll swap them out, put the new ones back in, put the anti-squeal shims back in, use the new Ferodos that I've got and then, well, if it happens again after that, I think I'll scream!

Hopefully I'll have all this done at the garage meet. Will report back...

Cheers Dan, do let us know how you get on.

I'm going back to Godspeed tomorrow. I may just fork out for new calipers, have my Alcons reconditioned, and sell them to try and recuperate some of the loss.

Be very careful not to round the bolt head when removing these plates. Use plenty of releasing oil

Don't you get new bolts with the repair kits ?

You do get new ones in the kit but you still have to remove the old ones to get the plates off.

I was planning on hack sawing a groove across the top of the bolt to allow a flat blade screwdriver to engage it - I tried for ages to get an allen key in there to no avail, and of course it's a rounded headed bolt so couldn't get any grippies to grip - new bolts do come in the kits.

@Mike - have you installed your new brakes yet?

The pads were still tight so I ended up grinding a bit off the edge of the pads to make them fit better. No problems since.
I had the same problem. Few things in found out:
                          1) Ferrodo pads are slightly bigger than Textar
2)New shims only stick well to textar not Ferrodo due to that blue
                          rubberey back pad on ferrodos.
3)Ferrodo are a slightly harder compound than Textar, Hence more likely
squeel but OK when warmed up.
                          4) Almost all Porsche specialists (that i know) use Textar Pads
                          5) Porsche OEM (& RS2) are made by Textar just different box.
                          6) Only Textar pads fit properly in backing shim plate shown on ETKA
7)Ferrodos produce alot less dust than Textar
Thats why to me, i don't mind the slight squeel when cold (which brings
attention to my drilled disks all round & painted calipers )
                          Against the reduction in dust.

BT at thier finest... one engineer said it wasn't a BT Line problem, another BT engineer who checked the all singing phone system we have says its a line problem... in the end.... it was a SOCKET problem!!! and they reckon people are flocking back to BT in the millions??? hmm....

The last parts you were waiting on came into us off back order yesterday, they went out straight away so hopefully you got them today?

Hi Martyn - parts arrived in the post about 30mins ago, nice one! Are you going up to Baschurch?

@Charlie - interesting info on the Ferodo pads being slightly bigger than the stock - maybe it's worth doing a bit of grinding on the backing plate as a matter of course then? I've got a new set to install, hopefully I can then get a refund on the cracked set - I managed it with EBC.

My squealing is now so bad that it actually sets the ABS off at parking speed, which is bonkers.

Some good news (for me anyway), my noise has gone.

Took the car back in this morning. Calipers removed, stripped, blasted, pistons cleaned up too, rebuilt, basically a full recondition as new.

                                Problem solved.

Now I just need to wait until my ceramic Endless pads have bedded with the new discs.

Thumbs up to Ian at Godspeed, super job. Highly recommended.
