  • fitting New abs pump & best brake fluid?

Need to fit the new abs pump on A6 c4 quattro.. Any advice on fitting and bleeding the system?
Also, what would be the best brake fluid to use? DOT 4 SUPER? or DOT 5.1?

I understand dot 4 SUPER is better for boiling point, but dot 5.1 has better viscousity witch is better for ABS and traction control systems. So would that apply to the EDL system?

I've never bled a brake system before, but my dad has. So he's going to help me with it.
Just wondering if there are any special considerations to take on board when changing the abs pump? or i just bolt the New pump up and bleed the system as normal?

    Cheers in advance.

The simple way is to pressure the reservoir with not more than 1 bar and after that to open the bleed bolts!
