The semi-annual MOT was coming up (passed with zero faults this morning), so had to adjust the handbrake on the blue sled.
For the first time, I decided to follow the instructions in the RS2 Workshop manual and adjust both the cables and the adjusters within the disc, and not just the latter.
Access to the cable adjuster requires the removal of a easily removed heat shield above the exhaust. The drive shaft makes access somewhat clumsy, but easily doable with a flex head ratcheting spanner.
Note: when adjusting the nut, have the handbrake lever in the lowest (off) position, as otherwise, there is too much preload on the nut.
Handbrake action is now nice and tight, and it holds the car quite decently.
Not as good as the one on the Mk2 Golf (drum) or 80 Avant or A4 (both standard type), but decent.
The the big question is for how long...

. Hand brake lever hast to be 2 notches pulled up when adjusting the cables. Once it is released i dont see why would the preload on nut be too much? At released state there should not be any force on nut or cables??
