There seems to be lots of info on the forum ref: the best brake upgrades,
my question is :
Are Porsche monoblock 996 calipers interchangable from left to right (and right to left) sides if the pipework is swapped around, ie I have two lefthand front calipers (will this work)
The calipers have staggered pistons (one 40mm and one 36mm).
It is possible to swap the nipples and crossover pipes over to use a left hand caliper on the right - but that is not how they've been designed to work.

also, 996 calipers don't have a section machined out to properly swap the cross-over pipes. It will work, it's just not ideal...
Swapping nipples for crossover pipes only converts the caliper from trailing to leading (or vice versa). Calipers are handed and you will end up with reduced performance and increased tapered wear on pad materials for the non-optmised side...I wouldn't be happy with doing that myself.

Totally agree. Use multipot calipers always in the side they are suppose to go. What you can do is swap them from leading to trailing position by swapping crossover as Lee says
