Anyone know what the best treatment is for rusting brake hubs. Disks are fine but rusting on hubs is unsightly. New vehicles often have these coated for protection. Is wire brushing and apllication of Hamerite the best treatment?

Everything in perfect working order
Hammerite should be fine but would avoid painting the mating surface that the wheel contacts. When fitting new discs I just use "wheel silver" paint from a can, seems to do the trick.
A good wire brush followed by some degreaser/carb cleaned then some caliper paint should work well. I would stay away from normal paint or even hammerite as the heat from the brakes could affect it. As above, don't paint the wheel mating surface though
