Porsche brakes on ur quattro clarification

I know this have been covered time and time again but I want to be 100% sure before I shell out.

Iv decided to go with the Porsche setup as this means I can spend the money I'm saving over the ap setup on other parts that need refurbishing

So I will obviously need the Porsche caliper, am I correct in saying that this is off a
    Porsche 996 carrera c2/4 , 986 boxster s 3.2 rear brake caliper
And can some one confirm that the part numbers are as follows,
    996 352 421 03 n/s
    996 352 422 03 o/s

Then I will need the bracket off bambridge

Now which disc to go for,
Some say 288mm disc what car is this off and what's the part number and where's the best place to buy them from?

How ever I have read that sport quattro discs can be used these are a little bigger around 290 some thin, they are tight but I don't want to run spacers, are the brackets the same to run this disc?
Where can I get them and what's the part number?

Or is the quattro sport disc a little too close, meaning the brakes can't breath?

    What pads do people run?

Stupid question but are the pads I need for a porsche ?

    Cheers guys

I Used apec discs, I'll dig out the size I used and confirm caliper part numbers when I get my laptop on later.

Below is an extract from a guy called (username) Harvey on the quattro forum, I believe he is the person who designed the brackets that Bambridge does. I have used the kit he describes, its spot on. The only thing you will be missing is brake pipes as the standard ones wont work.

A couple of months ago I indicated I was going to design a bracket for a Porsche brake upgrade for the front of the ur. This was motivated primarily by the following:

      • serious brake upgrade that would still suffice if I ever went for more power.
      • keep the standard 8 x15 Ronals
      • did not want to have to machine the brake disc prior to use (as in some kits)

As a result I have the following prescription for a brake upgrade that can be used in conjunction with 986 (Brembo) Boxster 2.5/2.7 calipers part # 986 351 421/2:

The disc I designed the brackets around is an aftermarket copy of an Audi pattern. Specifically I used an Apec vented disc, DSK 911 (mildly ironic part #), at approx £40 for a pair from the local motor factor.

I have 2 sets of these brackets left, just waiting for some more m12x1.5 caphead bolts to arrive.

I also have 2 sets of the ur/996 brackets left (DJones design)

After these have gone, im not making any more

I was going to ask you to make me a set of brackets for the 996.351.425/6 calipers to be used on S2 hubs with 323mm discs, any chance?

Both of these sets will fit ur, the second one needs a lot of work but you will potentially end up with 304mm disc under 15inch standard wheel.

If you don't want to make anymore brackets, would you willing to pass on the drawing for the bracket? I have a local machine shop that could do the job for me.

                    Thanks

What brake set up are you looking for Tom?
The biggest you can squeeze inside standard 15'' is 304mm and 996 calliper.
