    Original brake pipes material.

Are the original brake pipes used on our cars made from steel with a copper (or is it zinc?) outer coating, or "Bundy tube" to give it its commercial name. Have I got that right?

What about the current generation of Audis? Do they use Cupro-Nickel tubing as standard?

          Thanks for the replies.

I've done a little digging and believe I may have found the right stuff, its made by an OEM called Cohline. Here's a brief description their product:

Steel line with inner and outer copper coating, outer has 25 µm zinc coating and an additional olive plastic coating.

Product code for 4.75mm (3/16") tubing is 1035.0347-5

I'll need to call for a quote as prices aren't listed online.

Good find. Be interested in more info. You will certainly need a good quality tube bender, the OEM stuff is pretty tough

I cant see any advantage for OEM over Cupro-Nickel?

              Am I missing something?

Yes. OEM steel ones are much more durable than copper. But nowadays plastic pipes are good or probably even better alternative.
