    New front pads

    Good morning guys,

A quickie for you all. I'm away to buy new front pads for my standard calipers which at the moment have anti-rattle 'springs' on the back, like the attached picture.

Do I NEED to buy pads which also have these spring thingy's or will ones without work just as well (as I suspect they will). Also, do S2's have wear indicators on them like is shown? I don't think they do but would appreciate confirmation please

Many thanks & cheers for now

been a while since I have run std calipers but I seem to remember they don't have wear indicators (at least not on the 3b) but other models which share the pad/caliper combo may well have, you can simply cut them off if nothing to clip into on the car naturally...

I would have thought most pads would require you to use the springs or you can reuse them from the pads being removed. Having said that the floating calipers do not seem to resonate anything like as bad as a gunked up set of 996/boxster s calipers do, so if you use some anti-squeal paster then might be good enough without (My old mintex 1144's just came with an adhesive pad for the back of the pad)
