8-piston calipers possible on 330mm disc in 17' wheels

[LucheS2@20v]

With cold brakes you actually dont have brakes, on highway still should kick two times to heat... After that you have.

Hope can understand me

here is an update
I've already finished one side, so it is possible to place 8-piston calipers in 17 "rims
for the bracket i only had to change the bolts for m10 to m12 and to make clearanse for the rims i put 2 washers between the bracket and the stud so that the caliper moved to the inside.

[quattro-nick]

ive' had bought some yellow ebc pads but i want to use this only on track so i came up with the idea to make ordinary street brake pads for better grip so i bought some audi Q7 pads and adapt them for my k-sport calipers
there were no rattle clips with the calipers so I made this myself from origional Q7 ratlleclips

[quattro-nick]

her the difference between old and new caliper

[quattro-nick]

and the complete setup from the right front brake

Nice! Nothing is impossible.

thanks thomas,I'm always ready for a challenge

If its not a problem to post, i have a set of d2 racing 8 pot 330mm brakes bolt on for b3/b4 with brake lines.

Also can offer only brackets for sale

Any pictures? If floating disks I'm interested.

okay, made my first testdrive with the new brakes today
it all looks good except that my pedal travel is longer now what I expected
i've seen on the net that my master cylinder is 22mm.
i can use one from a 80 b4 typ or s2 because these are 25mm
it also fits because on the outside they are the same
or i can use a rs4 b7 master cilinder (27mm) because they also use 8 pot calipers but then i need to make an adapter to fit the b7 cilinder on b2 vacuum booster
I do not know yet what I'll do

[quattro-nick]

so i have chosen for a rs4 b7 master cilinder with dubble vacuum booster
i bought a compleet one from ebay for 140 euro
the adaption was very easy,i have fitted the rs4 booster on the origional b2 bracket
the audi coupe quattro typ85 using a strange brake pressure regulator that sits under the master cilinder.i'm planning not to use this.i bought a brake pressure regulator you can set with a rotary knob
this will be my next job

Making use of the last bit of spare room there Nick, well done. Looks really good

[quattro-nick]

thanks patrick!
i still have some spare room in the trunk

i have fitted the brake pressure regulator in the middle off the car so i can change the pressure while driving.afterwords i made a testdrive with the new booster .this was not good, the brake-ratio between the front and rear axle was wrong, even with the regulator on his maximum, the front stops to hard.
so drove back to the garage and removed the pressure regulator and make the brakeline back like it was so straight from master cilinder to the rear brakes.
made back a test drive and wow, what a difference, now i have the brakes i always wanted so i can advise all you guys with big brakes to place a rs4 b7 brake booster with mastercilinder, great brake force with a small pedal force and pedal travel
with very hard braking the rear blocks but it's also bad weather now
the pressure regulater from ebay is not good so i gonna buy an other one,any suggestions, tilton maybe?
so,this is now my setup:
-front:330mm disc with k-sport 8 piston calipers and normal street pads
-rear:300mm disc with urs4 calipers and ds2500pad
-17' rims

when i go on track i have ebc yellow pads for the front.

[quattrostyle]

But it's good now without the pressure regulator, so why do you want another one?

What brake line material did you use?

[quattro-nick]

i want to be sure that the ratio is good so i need to make some other hard stops on dry roads so i can feel that the rear breaks still are blocking or not
i think that i'm only gonna be sure when i go driving on track with the other ebc brakepads and track tires
time will tell
about the breake lines,i dont know what material it is but it's has a diameter from 5mm
i just bought it in a local carshop
