Intermittent ABS and n/s handbrake (mot fail)

    Hello to all
MOT time again, it passed everything including emissions except that the ABS warning light would not come on with ignition and n/s handbrake not working.

The ABS light, can be a bit hit and miss and true to form as soon as i got back home it was working perfectly, i even video'd it as evidence! ign...flash...off....press diff switch...on..e.tc
and it worked for a day only

with handbrake, the cable doesn't seem to pull the cam round enough, the cam moves and if you lever it round it will lock the wheel. i wondered if it might be as pads are half worn. with rear wheels off floor have proven that rear calipers are working when press brake pedal. i know the cables themselves can be problematic though haven't yet got under enough to see them.

Am rummaging for the ABS relay as well not found it yet, maybe that could have a bad solder joint in it. fuse 31 is ok though.
Am also having a go at connecting with vcds-lite
    So, getting no-where fast really!

    Thanks
    Phil

am really chuffed it passed emissions, aparently it wanted to be really hot.

    Well,

the vcds did say too many comm errors to the ABS Module (after finally getting it working).
ABS light has not showed up again yet.
I don't seem to have a relay with a fuse on top under dash, couple of relays under plastic ABS housing (under bonnet)
think I found the abs module under rear seat.

Consolation prize though, I had thought my sub-woofer had blown but found the rca's disconnected under the seat, seems to be working fine!

guess this will be a work-in-progress for now, may have to get my mot garage to look at sorting it.

    All the best

At least I managed to get my bike through it's MOT without any drama the other week.
