Brembo 17z/18z Favour?

Hi guys,

Rebuilding the front end of my coupe now and looking into brake upgrades. I'm thinking of going for 17z or 18z's with 330mm or 345mm discs. I'm going to be running 18" Futura's so quite comfortable with the clearances from caliper to barrel but I'm not so sure about clearance from the rear of the wheel face to the caliper.
Can anyone who is running either 17z or 18z's roughly measure how far out the caliper sits from the wheel mounting face of the disc?

Please excuse my kiddie attempt at a drawing but hopefully it'll help explain the dimension I'd like. Hoping that will allow me to check if I'll be able to squeeze them in behind the OZ's without spacers(hopefully!)

Alan,

Running with offset of around 35mm on your wheels you should be fine assuming that the discs you use are similar offset to standard

Thanks for the reply Greg but I'm not sure if the discs that can be used with the Brembo conversions are of similar offset to the original disc. That's why I'm hoping that someone can give me an actual measurement from the face of the disc as it'll be a common reference that I can use to double check.

Hi Alan I use to run 17zr/17zl calipers these have bigger Pistons than 18zr/18zl calipers but if you ask Albert he has brackets for either calipers and discs to match I can send pictures pm your email please

Thanks mate, Yes it'll be Alberts brackets I'll be going with. I don't really have much of a preference over 17z or 18z, both will be more than good enough for what I need. I would just like to double check they'll clear the wheels before ordering the bits.
