    Cleaning brake discs

    Morning ,
I have a pair of new front discs I've had stored however didn't treat them with anything before I tucked them away. They now have a very fine layer of corrosion. I'm pretty sure I won't need to go as far as having them skimmed however does anyone have any ideas on the best way of cleaning them up before I fit them ?

If it's only really fine, I'd try either Scotchbrite or fine emery cloth and a bit of WD40. Then clean them after with a solvent brake/carb cleaner

My S4 was stood for 2 years before I bought it, so disks were pretty rusty. Used one of these on them and they're like new.

Scotchbrite or something similar does the job. Just braking will clean them also but this rust also contaminates the pads, especially if the car has been sitting for long period of time.
