    Warning symbol

Hi i have just bought my new s2 but when i start it up and start driving a symbol similar to this appears on the computer (!) I have looked in the manual and this is not quite clear on what this means. The brakes are working fine and the symbol does not come on all the time just now and then. Any suggestions on what this is? Couls it be the fluid needs a little topping up?

Could mean the brake fluid needs topping up if its red. If its yellow it could mean the coolant needs topping up. Just go round the fluids and have a look to see whats what...

Yes it would. i dont think they had pad sensors, It might even be something to do with engine oil level?!

Ah. The notorious 'achtung!' Bomb/PAS pump symbol. It usually comes on start up, then goes away after about ten seconds or so. If it comes on when your driving you should be scared.

so this is a common thing then? The car has been standing for a long while so could this also have something to do with it

also worth checking the sensor on the PAS reservoir, if the float gets stuck down it will trigger too.

Mine started doing this the day after i bought it.
That was nearly three years ago..lol. Still does it, everything has been checked/changed, and the bomb passes the pedal test.

                            Mine is exactly the same!

                            @ Stevieyid

If it ever comes on when I am driving - has happened twice it is because I have been fiddling with the lid of the PAS fluid reservior and the connection to the level indicator is playing up....

If you can pass the switch off and pedal pump test and you *know* your brakes are okay then you will be OKAY!

                            HTH

                            Cheers,

Check the PAS reservoir level and make sure no slow leak past circlip at base. My previous S2 did this twice
