How thick discs with 996 Mono's?

So, can you cram a 32mm wide disc into a 996 monoblock caliper? I saw that Blizcat (spelling?) sold kits with a 32mm disc and 996 calipers... Is it possible?

Dunno, Monoblocks are designed for 28mm discs AFAIK and it's Tight with 30mm on the A8 discs.

Might need to find someone who has BTDT with the 32mm disc first.

Yes you can, you just have to move these pins out by a few mm. If you put the caliper in a vice they WILL actually move without hacing to grind them down.

You will definately have to grind those pins down and maybe even remove some pad material, its a tight squeeze with a 30mm disk

Martin, Paul discovered that you don't need to grind down the pins, but can simply push them outboard with a vice or whatever. They're almost an interference fit inside the caliper.

You just need to make sure you don't push them out too far to avoid hitting the inside of the rim.

I had a couple of mm taken off my pads to be on the safe side. No problem. Only that I now have a bag with £25 worth of DS2500 pad material in it!

                Hi!
Hadn't paid much attention to that conversion. Interesting!
The other caliper conversion.is the 996tt/GT3 monobloc which is for the 330X34 disc. So there isn't a problem with the 993tt disc at 32mm. Other than making sure you don't let your pads wear down too much!

They're 2-piece... Well ok. The discs I found were 322mm so they are a wee bit too big for 16" wheels with monoblocks (depending on who you listen too!) but I think I'll get the discs anyway.

EDIT: Too late, they were already sold... Hrmpf...
