You've got no chance getting the discs and even if you do find them, they'll cost almost as much as a complete upgrade and they'll be warped again inside 20k miles! I'm saving for an upgrade myself. The pads are available elsewhere! I got some through my local Unipart garage but if I remember rightly they struggled to find the right set. I think we found that the Ferodo pads don't fit (too thick) but the Unipart branded pads were fine! If your discs are warped have you tried straightening them out using the age old heavy brake test tecnique? Just slam your anchors on from around 80mph on a quiet stretch of road. Do it at least twice, the first one heats up the discs and the second warps them back into shape! It's a well known tactic with this brake setup and it worked for me, just make sure you warn your missus that your about to do it!!! I forgot that part!

UFO discs are no longer that expensive. 140€ each here at the dealer. Probably way cheaper at vagparts or similar.

One of the disc's has a crack in it and the other one is warped so there is no easy fix remedy ,know what you mean by warping stuck new pads about 3 months ago and i think i am to blame with the warped disc as i have read if you do not bed them in properly you warp the discs

At the moment i am looking at 320quid for the Dics and Pads new from Audi and by the sounds of it for another 150 i could upgrade to 966 mono's but getting the time to do is not going to happen ,My flat looks like Building site at the moment walls knocked down and plaster everywhere so got my hands full already

You do know that you don't have to remove the caliper bracket to change these don't you??? I made the mistake of trying to do this and then found out afterwards

I have no idea what UFO discs are, but I have a friend in the motor trade who quoted me around £60 per disc for Audi A8 discs. Does this sound like a good deal? It certainly sounds cheaper than the posts above, but as I said, I don't know what a UFO disc is.

I assume I should get 314mm as I have 16" Avus wheels, but he asked whether I wanted them grooved or just the plain vents. I seem to remember someone on here saying that grooved or cross-drilled where actually worse...is this correct?

                Cheers

@Si - it's one of my bugbears about brakes.
Grooves are fine, they can help with keeping the pad surface from glazing, giving you a nice clean pad surface each time. You'll get increased pad wear of course, plus more noise from the disc. But you can use them as an easy "wear guide"!
X-drilling is not fine IMHO. It doesn't actually improve cooling, or de-gassing, it reduces the heat capacity of the disc and causes increase in stress on the disc at each disc edge, leading to cracking and premature disc failure. Ok it may reduce the weight a bit, but mainly it looks bling.
                    That's my view.

I've no idea what UFO brakes are either!

Interesting reading - a good idea by Audi to try and increase disc size without increasing wheel size, but I must admit the first thing I was thinking when I saw the design was "COOLING ISSUE"!

They work ok, but i don't think there is a huge margin left in them when worked hard

You could try Pete Reeve of www.quattrocorner.com who initially supplied parts for the UR but can source anything Audi now these days. He is well respected by the UR owners across all forums and if paying by cc or debit card items (if in stock) are despatched same/next day. I bought a MB oil cooler from him at a fraction of the cost of stealership prices.

No personal connection other than another possible source without massive profitering.
