    sourcing Monoblocks etc

After muchos reading, I have decided that the very first mod for my S2 (other than already having chaned to clear front indicators) should be the brakes, as they are not even as good as my 2.8

My plan is the much talked about 996 calipers, RS2 carriers and A8 discs as they must fit inside 16" Avus wheels. I notice that this kit involves sourcing 2nd hand calipers, so my questions are....

    1. Where do I find 2nd hand Black monoblocks and then the seal kit (or what ever the recommended service kit is for 2nd hand calipers)? Nowt on UK ebay and would prefer to buy from a trusted source for such a vital component.

    2. Textar pads seem to get the vote for most dust produced, so what gets the ?

    Mucho thanks in advance

        Hello Si
Four options with regards to calipers,
1/ Keep an eye on eBay, not just the UK one though, but germany too.
2/ On this forum, I got mine from Bry on here.
        3/ design911.co.uk
        4/ douglas valley porsche breakers

Pads ! ! the best seem to be the ferodo's as Alastair says, I'm a bit hard up at the mo so have just bought a set of Hawk racing pads, they get good reports from friends and are cheap, not unhappy in anyway with the performance of the textars, just the dust, but thats because I'm a big girl when it comes to cleaning the car, I hate it dirty

There is a set of Porsche RS2 calipers just listed today on ebay, these are a good upgrade, but pad choice is limited, hence people opting for the 996 monoblocks or the RS2 "upgrade" big reds.

He will need your brackets to avoid scraping his calipers under 16" Avus rims.

              Thanks for the answers guys.

I was sure that I had read that the 996 calipers with RS2 brackets and A8 discs (314mm) would fit under the 16" Avus wheels? Hence my choice for this combo, as it seemed to be the least painful

If not, I guess I'll have to speak to that dodgy JAS11N character about some bent bits of coat-hanger

              Cheers
