    Help! GT3 calipers on S2...

    So. I'm off to look at a pair of front 2000 Porsche GT3 calipers. Are they 4 or 6-pot? Now they were made for 330mm disc - I want to fit them under a 17" (actually a 16" but that is not that important!) wheel so I'm guessing that I'll need a custom carrier here. I would get the discs as part of the deal - but that won't really help me. What are my options here? They are at the right price but they seem awfully big...

    I need ideas and pointers here, I mean, can I use these calipers and what are my options?????

    These are the 4 pots, same as 996 Turbo

    You need, custom carriers, custom discs. I think RS2 brake lines should fit. Very nice brakes you are getting.

      Ok. So I'd need a disc that is 34mm wide and something like 322mm in dia to fit under 17" right? Maybe a 322 x 32 off a RS2 maybe? But then I'd need a hat. There is a A8/S8 dics that is 34mm thick but it is 345mm in dia and that is not ok.

      I'm not sure that I am indeed buying these. The discs will be expensive...

      It there was a way to make the pads wider and then go with a 322 x 30 A8 disc then it would be no discussion about it.

          GT3 and 996 Turbo are 330mm but no sure about width.

            @Spanish - they are 34mm.

            @Fourrings - yes, well then I'd loose too much surface for the pads.

            I'm starting to feel that these calipers are too darn big for me. I opted for a set of Boxster S calipers and I'm beginning to feel that I should stick to the plan.

              Decided they were too big... Or at least - there is no sensible disc avaliable that is 34mm, let alone 32mm. The only reasonable disc is a A8 style leaving me with 30mm thickness. Also - for the same cash as I would fork out for these calipers I'd get a full set of Boxster S (not including freight from GB though!) and that feels more tempting.
