Carbon is no good for road use, unless it has higher ceramic content
You need something that works from cold on road cars. Carbon doesn't!
Carbon brakes have a bit of a short lifespan, the main reason why they use more ceramic content for road versions (eg Porsche).
Lightweight discs are very appealing though! Not only do you lose the weight as it stands, but you also lose unsprung weight - and you also get a great reduction in rotational mass, which will cut the inertia down tremendously.
