    Pad options

Its coming close to the time to replace the front pads on the car and i've had a quick look through some previous posts. I'm pretty persuaded by the DS2500 pads but i rang demon tweeks and they wanted £178 for a set. Anyone suggest somewhere else to buy the DS2500's.

Also what is everyone else using, they'll need to be a decent track pad too as i'm off to the Nurburg is August and plan on doing more track days.

Forgot to add, i'm using the 996 setup.

    Cheers,

    Chris

I currently use Fast Road Pagid pads and they are very good, however they are incredibly dusty!!!

FerodoDS2500, no 2nd thoughts, get them and you won't regret it.
I got mine from Graham Goode Racing, they came to about £165 inc VAT and delivery, but that was for the slightly smaller 968CS caliper.

They're a premium pad, but you get premium performance.
In my expereince they're superior to EBC Red, which comparatively have worse pedal feel, worse bite, worse cold performance and worse ultimate stopping power. They're also superior to the stock Textar pad, which basically doesn't do much but chuck soot all over your wheels.

Ferodo-a-go-go mate, you;ll be surprised how much of a difference they make.

You could try the Hawk pads. They do a fast road with little dust or a track pad which is dustier.

Pretty much what everyone says. Didn't even consider EBC for the car, just wouldn't be upto the job. I've rung a ferodo retail company up who don't sell the DS2500's but sell the DS performance pad . He said there a fast road pad but not sure about track abuse. Sounds just like stock ferodo pads.

Although Found this link on them tho: LINK

It looks like they've stopped calling them DS2500 and now they're just "DS"?
Go through their on-line fitment guide, it's quite enlightening what pads fit what.

I think those pads i've been looking at are the DS2000's. Sound ok but you never know. Might give them a try.

I have Hawk HPS on my setup now. I like them - they do stop me, I'm not very happy with the initial wet performance. In a lot of water they act like they take a second or to to warm up before grabbing
Hawk say they are low dust if its true I would hate to see what a regular pad puts off.

I plan on trying the Ferodo pads when its time to replace them.

The Ferodos do dust a lot, and I mean a lot , but frankly I'd rather that than a low-dust formulation which doesn't actually haul the car down when you need it!
