Can the standard S4 B5 front rotors be used when converting to 996 monos on a S2 Avant? What is the hat height? They are 321mm so they should provide the extra clearence that the A8's don't (according to some). They are, however, more expensive than the A8 ones.

Hi Henka, it is not the disk size the matters, It is the caliper mounting bracket height as the caliper is close to the wheel not the disk.
The disk height has to be smaller and then the caliper moved in by different brackets or machining the caliper
I have a set which seems to clear OK there is 2-3mm clearance, if the wheel bendses that much the car would be undriveable!

Not with monoblocks it won't Bryan. the old split 993TT calipers clear I have seen photos on the forum of this all inside a 16" wheel!Originally posted by BRY2mm on diameter might give enough clearance on a 16" Avus - just
I don't know if Henka is running 16" wheels though. Can't help on the hat size. Maybe brembo site?

According to ZimmermanOriginally posted by HenkaStill, I'd like to know if a S4 disk is usable. Mainly 'cause I saw a pair for sale at a fair price. They were however crossdrilled which I don't fancy... Hat height please!
Total height of the B5 S4 321X30 rotor is 46.5mm vs 59.5mm on the A8 rotors.
