    HELP! Have 2 questions?????

1/ Is it necessary to retain the metal line that connects the 2 rubber lines on the front of an S2? Can 2 long SS lines be adequate enough to handle what the rubber and hardline do?

2/ What size are the metal couplings on the hardlines?

Are you talking about the brake lines?

I use SS lines but kept the hard line.
I think its 8mm but don't hold me to that.

      Panzer,
The easiest way to do this is for adding the Porsche caliper, is to replace the hardline that loops around the strut with a hardline bent from the 1st flex line,(body to strut) with a solid hardline(ala RS2) to the caliper. You use a standard VAG 400mm long hard line, available for cheap from the dealer, and bend it to fit the caliper.

I bent the first part of the hard line to match the loop around the strut,
put the hard line through the hole left by the 2nd flex line removal,
then bent the rest of the line to fit up to the Porsche caliper.

I put a groumet in hole just to keep the brake line from rubbing on inner diameter of the hole.

Since the caliper moves with the strut, you don't need the second flex line. Some people run a SS line all the way from the body to the strut as one piece, but I figure a hard line is better than any flex line.

The VAG couplings will thread right into the Porsche caliper. Same threads. No guess work.

1/ I used a stainless braided line all the way from the hardline that comes through the bodywork/suspension turret to the caliper, junking all the standard flexi and hardline. Braided hose was routed through the old fixings with a rubber grommet to stop chaffing.

        2/ Hose coupling/unions (male/female) are 10mm (on a UK S2 that is)
