    Ignition Problem

Hey people. Any ideas on this. Got into my S2 avant (aby engine) the other morning went out n about no probs. then left the car outside house and tried to go out again in the afternoon and it would not tick over. I thought the immobilisor had gone pair shaped (CLFFORD CONCEPT 300 G4) so I tried new batteries in the remote and removed the car batterie to reset, but I dont think it can be that because i was able to bump start the car. Could it be the ignition barrel ? I can hear the relay ticking as I turn the key so I am confussed on this one. Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanx

Probably the starter solenoid or starter brushes need replacing.

Thanks Porkkis. I'll check it out. I did manage to start it after it had been left over night but no more joy since.

That about confirms that it's a starter issue. Could also be a very corroded cable at the starter end but not likely on our cars (never seen one on i5 audi).
