I couldn't find any info on the 2x2 adapter which the S2 uses. Is that link on the PCB of relavence to my problem??

I e-mailed the seller of my cable with the problem and this was his reply:

I'm not that familiar with the software particulars or the 2 way connector issue. This is a KKL connection. I'm sorry I not more knowledgable on this but I can offer a full refund incl. shipping. Let me know what I can do or if you find an answer to this.

Does anyone have the info I can send to him to correct this problem, and hopefully get another cable off him f.o.c and there will be another reliable supplier of VAG-COM hardware. Failing that I can get a refund so can anyone reccomend a seller of VAG-COM compatable cables - at a reasonable price.

Try setting the baud rate at 1200.
Reason I say this, is at Donington show a couple of months ago, I tried reading an Audi 100 2.0e ecu, couldn't get anything, then it wouldn't work on my car anymore. Helpfull bloke passing set the baud rate to 1200 and all was ok.
Set it in the test section (com port etc)
Though I must add, I've used it again, and didn't need to set the baud rate again to 1200 and I've had it hooked up to mine, my bro's, a VW sharan, a VW bora TDi and an A6 2.5 TDi
Worth a shot I suppose.
