    s2 rev counter

Hi guys, finally got round to sorting the rev counter out on the series 2 quattro ******* aby abortion thingy ( if you saw it , you d know why i call it that)
anyway, has anyone got an idea where the feed for the rev counter comes from the ecu?
plus i need a rev counter-either aftermarket if you have any suggestions, or an s2 one from any aby ( cheap, only need the rev counter section)!

    mail me at audicoupeparts@hotmail.com

will try to put some pics on soon and an audio clip if me phone doesn t explode, car can be heard a coupla miles off!

...You don't actually have to use the ECU pin out for a tacho, terminal 1 on the coil works just as well for both aftermarket and OE tacho, always worked for me.

i ve got an aby engine so only coil packs, no coil, thanks for the info tho.
also want to know safe max revs to take it to?
sounds like a v tec engine as the revs climb, then i loose traction and have to back off- this happens in any gear, even 5th, cruising at 55mph ish, nail it and it wheel spins for 50 yards or so till i get traction.
this is with the quality tyres, not the remoulds i used to run it on

save revs for ABY standard. 7K is the limiter. or there abouts. Runs nicely upto there but on standard turbo the power will tail off more at the top end.

has anyone got a rev counter for sale or knows an aftermarket one that will fit-without spending a fortune on a stack one?
