well.....not as much off a bummer as my fog lights, heated mirror issue!!....
Anyway of replacing bulbs behind my dash without taking dash out?!?!.....
Give it a whack - you'd be surprised how effective percussive maintenance is with the electrics on the S2. I had a similar issue last winter - thought that two of the bulbs behind the speedo and rev counter had gone. Gave the dash a tap, and, a miracle, they started working again. Been fine ever since.
Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...
what happened to the "good old" days of popping your speedo out and swapping the bulbs!!!....these new fangled gizmo's!!!.....sorry this old timer does tend to ramble a bit
Dash light bulbs are a piece of ****! Two screws on the steering column cover. Two screws in the front of the dash surround. Undo clips behind dash (okay, slightly tricky ) carefully withdraw dash from behind steering wheel. Change offending bulbs...
Refittment is reversal of removal
