    Alternator On the Way out

Looks like my alternator is on the way out

Friday voltmeter only reading 10v unless reved hard above 4000rpm
I have checked the belts all seem fine and were only replaced 4 months ago along with a new battery.
All the earths seem fine especialy since they were checked when the top end rebuild was done.

I hope, it may just be the voltage regulator but, if not then I suppose I need a replacement alternator.

    Question

Is there anyway to determine if its just the VR and not the alternator
