easiest way to replace the wire loom

    Hi all,

Tomorrow i want to start with replacing my wireloom. The old 3b wire loom will be replaced with a RS2 one. I hope someone can give me some directions where to start and what to do. I already marked most of the connections on my new rs2 loom, by using the electric scheets on S2central (thanks for sharing Paul!).
I wanted to start from the inside and work my way to the outside (if someone has a better idea, please let me know). So I was thinking to start with the dash and try to get this out.

    thanks!

    Erik

take your dash board out - seems like a ball ache but makes life much easier!
make sure you sort where they go first, ie thead all your wires through the bulk head to start with, then put the wires up to the fuse box,

i wired the fuse box up first (thinking i was getting the hard bit out of the way first), then couldnt get all the plugs through the bulk head to the engine bay so had to disconnect everything and start again

And not to hijack the thread, but did Audi use different looms for LHD vs RHD? IE, is there a LHD 3B loom AND an a RHD 3b Loom, etc?

I've got one covers all the different areas of removal. (and it covers LHD too)

Got to go out in 5 minutes but will be back in 20 minutes then it will take me 20/30 minutes to convert all the images.

Now that's an interesting thought??? As I have a 3b loom from a lhd 200 20v that I am putting into a rhd 200. It does not look like it is that different but who knows?

Surely LHD and RHD must be slightly different given that all the instrument cluster is going to be on the opposite side of the car? i cant imagine the car is a mirror image down the middle for placement and that one must have been longer for some bits than others.

                      thanks

Sorry haven't got info on removal of the climate control panel.

                        Hope this helps.

LHD And RHD Engine Looms ARE Different.

Different, Corey. LHD engine loom is shorter than RHD. They both pass through the firewall on the L/H/S, but that's where the LHD loom stops, as the fusebox is on the same side as entry. The RHD loom however has to travel accross to the fusebox on the other side of the car.

Having had a closer look at the loom over the festives period, I had come to the same conclusion.
The loom (hopefully) will be spliced into the car's loom. As the engine loom is from an eyebrow dash and the car is an earlier square dash.
Shame it isn't as simple as the engine loom on an ur 10v, 4 wires and it's out
