My airbag warning light is illuminating for about a minute or so after startup, then going out. Should this happen? If not, How can I solve the problem? All I have done is been in above the steering wheel... Loose connection?
Thanks,

Mine did that because I had removed the fuse for the airbag while the engine was running and then replaced it. When I used VAG-COM to read the faults it showed an intermittent fault with the airbag which I deleted and the light went back to working correctly.

JB, that sounds like an issue with the clock-spring in the steering wheel.
You need the 2x2 adapter cable as well. I'm sure somebody near you has it - just remember not to sit in the car when hooked up to the airbag controller with a PC. Just in case a freak fault or interaction triggers the dang thing...
The freeware version can clear fault codes AFAIK - other functions are disabled on the free one but that's ok for your needs. Of course you'll need the 2x2 adapter cable.
Thanks Paul.
But the only freeware software I can find on the Ross-Tech website is the "Hardcopy" software. And that doesn't look like the right thing...
