"Motorway turn signal" like in the newer Audi...

Hello,

I found a company (original of VW/Audi), which made the "motorway turn signal" for a real good price and a very good quality!!

the motorway turn signal means: when I tap the turn signal switch once the turn signal lights 3 times, like in every newer VW/Audi!! so you dont have to hold the switch for a "long" time or you dont need to engage the switch.

the relay can you put at the original relay station under the dash of the driverside.

I installed that in my car, thats very easy, only 5 cable (31/15/49a/49L/49R), thats it!! I needed around 1,5h with all.

So I think that is something for you guys!? now to the costs: the complete set cost 42 euro. the shipping is extra, I can shipp to every country!! shipping to europe cost 8 euro to the USA cost 12 euro, as a letter, to hold the shipping cost low.

Ben on here (S2avant) has fitted this to his S2. These are available through the dealers here for not a lot, I've ordered one to test on my S as well. I am sure Ben said he had fitted it....

I haven't fitted it yet as it still hasn't arrived. I have ordered one for the S2 and one for the Golf IV.

The part numbers are:

000 998 229 for the S2 (and most older models of VAG vars)

000 998 229 A for the Golf IV (and others)

rs2cabrio's kit works out at around £28.50 plus P&P (but obviously no VAT) so prolly near as damn it the same price. so why not just use his tried and tested solution?

@rs2cabrio, can you tell us more about your kit...i.e. what are the cables for, as I was under the impression that we only needed to change the relay to add this feature.

To put the record straight both kits are the same. I have had these kits on order since November. They have only just been released into the shipping process hence why they are available on the continent already.

I don't want to tred on Christian toes as he was first on the forum with the kit and his price is better than the UK retail price anyway.

I spend a fair bit of time investigating new additions to the VAG parts range (as obviously does Christian ). I always pass any interesting finds onto MartynF as he is geared up to sell them and can usually get a better price than me.

WIll this fit the urS6 though? I spend a lot of time on the motorways and would love to add this.

It should fit pretty much any car that uses a flasher relay. It is listed as only for MkIII Golfs on our system but they use the same flasher relay as the S2 (and almost all other VAG models)

So after my rambling the answer is yes it will fit the UrS6.

Ben, both my kits arrived today! I think I ordered these about two months ago wasn't it? I've the Golf and Passat ones here now. If RS2Cabrio has already fitted his and it works ok, then I see no reason why it couldn't fit and work with most dubs or Audi's of the earlier variety.

I'll load the fitting instrutions up as a pdf file in a little while so anyone can read how to fit it (to a Passat!) if we can confirm this will work ok, then who ever wants one can buy it from RS2cabrio if they want too.

Like Ben said, we like to look out for new stuff, yeah... we're gadget boys :-) I'll post the fitting ins, in a few mins
