Definative bulbs list

Hey folks,

I am trying to compile a definitive list of all the bulbs for the S2, including their modern replacements (or LED's) where appropriate.

I am paticulartly interested in replacing all the dash/instruments/switches with LED's so that I only have to replace them once. I know of some LED's from Maplins, (e.g. Maplins CJ70 & Maplins PG77J) but not sure which to use where.

So far, I have the following table Bulbs.xls, please help to complete it

I have seen the odd mention, but thought that a complete list might be more useful.

However, I am seriously considering pulling this thread, due to atrocious spelling as well as lack of interest

Si, there was a guy selling the dash bulbs on ebay a while back but they were 1.2w not 1.1w, at first i didnt think it would matter but over time it started to melt the inside of the fog light switches slowly turning them white rather then red.

I've bought a few of these to try, havent fitted them yet but i'll let you know,

For the smaller ones, elecy window switches, diff lock etc i bought a load of tiny led's from Maplins and soldered them in, seems to work fine so far.

P.S. Has anybody ever managed to buy a light bulb for the key fob? ..cant source them anywhere.

Do you mean the light in the key?

If so you'll be looking at N 902 625 01 which retails @ £1.71 + VAT

The battery is N 902 624 01 which retails @ £2.55 + VAT

If its wanted I can work out part numbers for most common jobs on the S2 so we can have them all in a section together. Along the lines of Ant's cambelt parts list.

Thanks for the bulb code, I have added it to the spreadsheet

I had assumed that most of the standard bulbs would not need VAG part numbers as most folks would buy them from their local Halfords etc, but if you could fill in anything unique to our cars that would be great.

After that, what I am REALLY interested in is which LED's to use for the dash/switches etc. I got some from Maplins and fitted them into my Diff lock switch, but they are way too bright and I cannot remember which ones I used...DOH

Thanks. I seem to remember reading that one. It is a good article but only talks about bulbs, not replacing with LED's. Also it is US based so all their stuff comes from Radio Shack, not Maplins, so always slighly harder to translate
