No need to do the mod if you dont have HIDs
Moving the wire will only stop the headlights from going out when the main beam comes on, If you have HIDs and dont do this then the blasters that ignite the HID light will die far quicker as they will have to fire every time you switch to main beam.
If you dont have blasters and just standard ellipsoids then the lights dont need to stay on while the main beam comes on. (Please correct me if im wrong).
If you still want to do the mod just drive up to totnes and ill give you a hand, I did my 3B a while ago and also had that wire for leveling in place.
It works fine now and switch has not fried yet

...but if you've gone and done it already, then that's just a great reason to go out and buy some HIDs, trust me it's worth it... Anyway, with the HIDs you can do without main beams

Just what I'm looking for... Don't wanna pay £50 on the best if I can get something 1/10th the price that matches up the same, but give 30% less light. Coz I really can't see a bright sidelight making much of an impact on my Xen's...

Oh right, i was under impression you needed to do mod for Ellipsoids, not HID's, but seeing as ive done the mod....HID's!!!

Jas, those Xenon sidelight bulbs you got from ebay, in the daytime when they are off, can you see them as blue through the glass? want something that will show white through the glass in day but when on at night be white which maybe a hint of xenon blue...

I just finally put HID's in the RS2 headlights and will be checking on this this weekend! Thanks for the posts everyone.
Also, BTW check out www.ddmtuning.com for awesome and cheap HID kits! I bought 7 sets of these, lol.
I have 6K in the headlight low beam, and 3K in the RS2 fog lights! Loving them.Comment
