UrS4 door lock?

Hi, again not an S2 fault but any ideas? My brothers S4 ('94) . I cant unlock the central locking from the drivers door. Works ok from passenger side. Ive stripped the door card off, lubed/checked all the mechanical bits. No wires broken or loose. Is this likely to be a new lock unit or some hidden "black box" fault?
Mechanically the door locks/unlocks but if you unlock it then open the door the alarm goes off! So im sure its an electrical problem.

Parts same as any Audi100 from same year?

I would look for electrical as it sounds relay problem maybe and 100 parts fit

S4 is brothers & its maroon.
My S2 is indigo but usually looks black (as its usually dirty!)

S2- '93K, ABY, Paul/Mihnea chips, so 280ish HP? 17". 993/A8 front brakes,NOS kit still to fit, in fact a fairly scabby example of a fab car!

Yeah do that ......in Glasgow area every now and again so will do the same good to see some one with the same car close by makes it really easy when trying to fix things
