    Headlight

    Hi Chaps.

got my smashing HID kit fitted and boy does it look good. So i thought I get the lights alligned.

when I came to pick up my car it had a cracked headlight with fresh glass on the bumper. They said because my lightbulbs are so powerful the head cracked the glass. never heard so much crap out of 1 mouth for a long time. But what can I do? my word against theirs.

Anyway, Im in need of a headlight, drivers side. where is the best place to get one fast'ish.. can the glass itself be replaced? or whole unit?

I remember jamo posted a gr8 link to where to buy from but so many threads regarding lights i cant for the life of me find it

    any links?

Hold on a sec, you left the car to have the headlights aligned, and when you came back the glass was broken. Somebody has to pay!

they said there was a tiny crack in the headlight when i brought it in. however they never mentioned this untill i pointed out the huge crack. A peice of glass (most of the sidelight) fell off on way home (@ 95 mph on motorway) good job it didnt cause any dmg. So they using it as an excuse that it was there b4 i brought it in.

I didnt want to argue, just get the hell out of there. They didnt charge me labour for other bits they did but still i loose out a lot.

Ive come to the conclusion, after 5 years of owning quattro's, that there is not a single garage on this planet that can do 5 jobs perfectly in a row. Want it doing perfect? do it yourself!

I gotta tell you that the way some of you talk about things that would piss me off are the funniest things!
***DISCLAMER*** I didn't mean to offend any one by that remark..Just that I'm in the good ol US of A & as I said if that happened to me I would have taken the broke piece of glass & started to cut people..I mean what kinda lame ***** excuse is that..I bet it went like this.. UUUmmm it was...ahhhh it had a small chip in it...uhhh & when we installed your higher wattage bulbs...ahhhh the light craked..yah thats what happened

I usually avoid situations like this by taking my car..to people I trust. The only things I let someone else do are alighnments, AC work, tire change..kinda things. There are plenty of web sites that cover how to aim lights. Daniel Stern has a site, Huw Powell has a site to name a few.
                  Heres Daniels site http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

Aren't HID lights cooler than standard lights anyway?

That's why they can fit them in smaller housings on newer cars and use plastic covers?
