    3b into urquattro electrics

hi, i'm about to undertake the task of installing a 20v turbo 3b motor into my urquttro. a garage here on the isle of man where i live will be doing the install. i'm just looking at ways i can cut down the install time on the electrics side. i have the 3b engine, wiring loom and ecu among other bits. ideally i would like to lable up the loom so it is easy to see what connections go where. is there any info/pictures about that will help me do this. i have printed off alot of info relating to the 3b motor, electrics, ecu and also alot of posts about previous similar converiosns thanks to you guys. hopefully this will cut down the labour time on the install. any other info that your think might help would be great too.

    thanks

most of the engine bay is straight forward everything just plugs in you should be able to do that yourself .
i did this conversion on my sport quattro replica but with an aby loom which isn't much different from 3b .only a few wires need to be conected to the fuse box . i had an auto electrician do it for me .

if you are using standard manifolds you wont have problems regarding altering brackets and so on .you will have to modify the front end to accomodate a larger intercooler.
are you using standard suspension legs ? and what gearbox are you thinking of ? if you use standard quattro gearbox and suspension legs no problem at all .
wiring should be straight forward have a look at someones s2 3b that way you'll know where all the plugs plug into .
but if you decide on tubulor exhaust manifold then lots of things have to be altered .

i will be using the original 016 ur 5 speed gearbox with uprated clutch and fly wheel. will also be using standard ur suspension legs. will be looking at get a few more horses when funds allow. for now i'm just looking to get the engine installed whilst standard and get her up and running. i would be very happy with that. i have been thinking about getting a few upgrade engine parts such as the 034 rs2 replica exhust manifold. haven't decided on a turbo yet and also the front mounted intercooler from an izusu npr. i will be looking for the cost effective'ish hp figure of 350-380, just enough to smoke most of these scooby's (old xr3i owners) that are clogging up our roads over here on the isle of man.

I think he meant "most of these scooby's (old xr3i owners)", that scooby is nowadays XR3 .

oh yes, we have no speed limit in a lot of areas on the island. theres a nice 10 mile run over the only mountain here that is toally unrestricted. plus insurance is cheap here to cos noone will rob you car as they can't go anywhere, they'd soon get spotted.
