i moved that ballast around, and i think its gone pop, its popping fuses like nobodys business, but when you put a 30amp fuse in it wont pop it but still doesnts come on

bloomin cars, i like the look of the vag parts ones, might have to get me a set... not too fussed about having 2 sets at once, more worried about not being able to see properly.

Thought it might have been the autocheck as the light comes on on the dashboard, but if the light is only working with the correct ballast surely that suggests that the ballast i fooked?!?!?!?

Nothing wrong with the auto check IMO it simplys comes as it recognises the light dont work.

Have a word maybe with Rotoryboy and getting a wiring diagram for them HID's as they are wired differently from the VAGParts one in your installation.

Have you tried switching the ballasts?

yeh i tried switching the ballasts, and the drivers side one works fine. so in my opinion i just need 2x ballasts.....or a kit which ever is cheaper, had a look at the wiring setup, didnt seem too complicated.

Had a look at the HID4U website & the wiring seems pretty similar.

Yeh but theres no seperate earth it uses the stock earth within the headlight i couldn't figure out why there wasn't a seperate earth for each ballast.

                Just for clarification
The kit now fitted to S2Ian's car has nothing whatsoever to do with me and Mark. I just remember where Graham got them from, hence myself posting a link and again Mark (rotoryboy) has posted links to contact them.
Hids4u have nothing to do with me or Mark. IIRC they used to be based in the North, but moved south a while ago.

I never saw how Graham fitted them either, so can't help on that particular wiring setup.

Got my HID kit through Jas11n's GB and strapped them on today, few pointers from the S246parts site and bling, awesome lights and no autocheck problems.

Did have to shell out 70p for some wire and two female spade connectors though:mischeif:

Nice one Jas11n, top mod, up there with 996 brakes i reckon
