Electric Windows relay 285 - Anyone have wiring schematics for them??

    As above guys... PN 443959257
I've got a fault with this I think because drivers side window only has the one touch activated when putting the window down...
you have to be quick to catch the window before the bottom of its travel because I swear it looks like it will carry on through the bottom of the door at that speed!! :mischeif: (though Im sure it wont of course)

All other parts work fine for both windows...one touch up or normal...and passenger side has the correct window down facilities still.
Want to check mine out fully before I pay out for another one basically.
    thanks

What car have you got, model, year etc?

Early B3 cars, and B4 up to about 1992 have one touch on drivers window, up and down. B4 from 1992 on have the one touch facility only going down. Relay and pin configuration are different...

      Mmmm...!!!

      Car is a 1991 3b S2..Does that make it a B3 iirc??!
I have the one touch on going down of the drivers window...but I dont have the option of doing it in stages if you see what I mean. As in press it and the window goes all the way down unless I press the opposite direction on the switch and then it stops!!
Is this correct then?? I was led to believe by local Audi parts bloke that he thought it should have staged down and one touch up??

Passenger window has staged down and that works fine...and iirc has one touch up too

Your operation is correct, only the later cars, like A4 / A6 etc have the staged operation, also sensitive to trapped body parts (like a neck or fingers!)

Passenger window should be normal - no one touch operation either way. A Coupe S2 is technically a B4, B3 cars had the old style bonnet, headlamps and grille.

My car is a '91, but my drivers side glass has one touch up and down . Weather permitting, I'll have a look at the relay fitted tomorrow, and part number.

I think I asked this a year or so again, but I am gonna try it again as I miss the one touch operation from my MY92 Coupe in my current MY95.....

Is it possible to modify an ABY to not only have one touch up and down, but also to have it on the passenger side?

            Cheers n
