Hard wiring a cigarette lighter app.

Looking for a solution to a wire dangling over my dash coming from my road angel to the 12v cigarette lighter! I have bought a hard wiring kit from ebay and now am wondering if there are any spare fuses or whatever to do this...? Also, does anyone know of a good route to take this wire and to have it popping out around about where the windscreen vents are?

    Cheers in advance,

    Phil

Yeah, but where am I going to put that, on the dash? LOL

The wire I have has a bear wire at one end, so having a spare 12v socket isnt much use. Apparently I've heard that you can just link this into the fuse box wherever or whatever that is!

as long as you fuse it down to protect the equipment you can connect it to any 12v supply
sorry about the confusion ithought you wanted it so it was removeable

Obviously use a cicuit that can be used for whatever current you intend to draw.
The cigarette lighter would be a good bet.

Oh, i guess no1 knows how to do it then! I was under the assumption that I could just wire it up to a spare fuse in some electrical box?!

What did you do? Wire it straight to 12V with no transformer?

You're probably better off pulling apart a cigarette lighter adaptor made for charging the phone, then connecting that to a 12V circuit. I don't spend much time with the phone plugged in, so I haven't really looked into it.
