  • Removing v71 stepmotor

    Hi guys,

about to change the stepper motor v71 that's under the mystery box. Only problem is that I can't figure out how the hell you remove the cable from its stupid bracket. It's similar to the ignition cables but doesn't seem to figure it out. Anyone with some special tricks up their sleeve.

Dont want to cut it open with any pliers as the Idea was to fix the steppermotor, but soon I think I need a hammer for that stupid connector

I had a write up on three of the HVAC stepper motors based on a translation and photos from a German website. Unfortunately I just checked and the website is gone. But my text still exists. Hope it helps a bit

Thanks but I know where it is and I see the connector but can't seem to understand how to remove the connector in the bracket.

it was easier to do a refurb of the cylinder head than removing a cable

Removing the actual steppermotor is a no brainer but that darn cable in its metal bracket where rocket science

There is the culprit, that darn connector, but I solved it.

As you can see you have to pry it open the actuall bracket than it was quite easy to change the stepmotor. Just press cirkulation when you have attached and connected your new or refurbished motor and realign the flap against the splines on the stepmotor. Cleared the fault codes with VAGCOM free and now everything is working. fresh air even without the AC
