    guys. strange issue this morning.

drivnig to work no problems. suddenly all power goes. all lights locking everything. after about 1-2 mins the indicators flash like battery has been reconnected and it fires up and starts. by this time the car was warm fans kicked in. the car cut a further 8-10 times sometimes for seconds but usually for 30secs-2mins

That is battery problem. Or bad contact

its a 6A converted to aby. battery relocated to boot. connections seem ok. never had this issue before. done around 6-8k miles since conversion.

fan seems to draw a lot of power

battery earth is around 1 year old. not getting hot.

            battery clamps same age

I would go to fuse box and with engine running start wiggle all main cables, high amp fuses etc. Also I would look for signs of arcing.

That would be my guess but the OP needs to start with the battery connections for sure.

ok so last night i tried a new battery. a big boy from my bmw 530d. same issues. power total cut when hot. checked fan wiring and battery connections.

so are we saying a short in the ignition switch itself may cause this? ill get another if so. its an easym and cheap fix/test fix my aby is no vems so i changed to non imobiliser switch type. its not sticking or burned though/

ill check under back seat to ensure wiring is good.

guys thanks do far for suggestions

ok so i changed ignition switch. went 3 days, basically till i went to work again before it failed again. when stick in rush hour manchester i found a wire under back seat that when moved it brought back electrics.

basicallty the feed to fusebox on my car runs from boot drivers side, across under rear seat, down procon channels to dash.

it had a warm spot/break under rear seat.

cheers guys for help and suggestions
